Finally: spring is almost here. The first rays of sunlight are starting to be seen and become our rays of hope amidst turbulent times. Creating an outfit that works well right in between winter and spring is not easy. Our inspiration for this outfit dissection comes from three key pieces: a great Plaid Blouse by Matalan, the beautiful Sara Flap Over Bag by Nica and See by Chloé's go-gaga-for Cut-Out Panel Wallet to go inside it. With just these pieces, our outfit is pretty bare, but is just enough to built a great one around them.

Not quite warm yet for an airy outfit? Choose an ever-convenient Pip Cropped Tuxedo Jacket by Twenty8Twelve to keep you warm, add a great pair of Skinny Jeans by All Saints and Topshop's to-die-for Cut-Out Shoes with contrasting ankle socks. For accessories, a Turquoise Rose Necklace by Forever 21 and Giles & Brother's wonderful Spiked Brass Oxide Bangle are enough.

When sunshine finally comes, make a few adjustments to your outfit core by adding: Diesel's fresh Cotton Blazer, a beautiful pair of cropped Silk Trousers by Stella McCartney and the comfy-yet-stylish Mock-Croc Sandals by F-Troupe. Grab Dorothy Perkins' Graduated Wood Bead Necklace and Banana Republic's Square Bracelets and you are ready to go out in the sun.

It's all about making key pieces work with any season or weather and renewing your look by mixing and matching pieces you already have with seasonal ones.

For good or bad, Valentine's day is just around the corner. Whether it means the world to you or it's simply another winter's day in your life, it's hard not to be part of the sugary time. In fashion, there's always something for every mood and personality, so there's hope for both types. The outfit core is made up of three balanced pieces: 3.1 Phillip Lim's Ruffled Leather Jacket (feminine with a rocker's edge); All Saints' Deadblooms Tee (Victorian-style modernity); 3.1 Phillip Lim's Peg Pants (easy-to-wear trendy).

Depending on your current lover's day outlook you can either make the outfit cool with a touch of brown sugar by adding: Marc by Marc Jacobs' Leather Slouchy Tote and Boden's Jewelled Pumps, or chocolate-covered and hard-core romantic with the help of: Miss Selfridge's Frilly Shoulder Bag and Kurt Geiger's Ribbon-tie Heels.

It's all about slightly adjusting the outfit core by making simple choices...much like choosing between bittersweet and white chocolate.
