It's as easy as the look above! Mix up denim pieces and create interesting layers that you can put on and take off as it gets warmer. By using the same denim color you create a polished look while combining dark denim with light denim will give you an edgy feel. Your favorite denim jacket will be your best friend this summer, or, if you're looking for a new one, take a look at my personal picks below - there are so many styles to choose from!

Loving the fresh look that a frayed cropped denim jacket can give to this linen skirt:

A denim coat is a key new piece to incorporate to your wardrobe: a trench look that is wearable through summer and fall and is not as casual as your everyday jacket.

Playing with lengths and denim finishes produces a totally unique result. An extra-long jacket paired with high-rise flared jeans in a darker shade and finish goes perfect with a staple 100% cotton shirt and trendy white boots.

A denim kimono is another key piece for summer that will be a great way to transition into fall. Pair it with contrasting white jeans and an intricate blouse for a timeless look. Finish it up with strap sandals and a trendy net bag. An easy to wear and stylish summer look in one shot.

Is it a way of braving the cold weather or just a way of people saying they've run out of style ideas?
Featured in Glamour France magazine, it seems wearing hair underneath your coat, or sweater, or both is very fashionable. Even Martin Margiela created a special insert on the back for it! Yes, seriously.

What do you think? Does it even deserve to be called a trend? Unless we put our coat on too fast and ran out the door looking like this, we're not going for it - and especially not on purpose.

It's always warm somewhere - whether you'll be one of the first in the world to welcome the New Year (hello Aussies) or you'd rather be waiting for the clock to strike twelve without wearing so many knitted items at once, why not ring in the New Year with a chic summer vibe as an alternative? Ditch the same old little black dress and make a head start with a renewed sense of style.

There's something empowering about simple outfits that make you feel great. It's all about choosing the right accessories to match how you want to feel. A silk blouse is a perfect way to create an outfit base that has no expiration date and is as feminine and strong as you want it to be. Go the elegant route (shown left) for a more timeless style and the edgy way for an attitude that will make you rock through the day.

Not your easiest of looks to take to the red carpet, but it's done now - Jennifer Lawrence wore it to the Hunger Games' premiere. Trading toplessness for a 50s-like leotard, the all-sheer lavender dress from the Fall 2013 Dior Collection has made its appearance in real life.
The sheer trend is all the rage right now but will this be remembered as a 2010s faux pas in a few years time? See her look here and decide.

A tough look to digest and yet, we give Jennifer's bravery and her stylist a thumbs up.

There are trends that don't even deserve to be called that since they make their way time and time again with a new perspective or twist (a status studs have also gained). The plaid trend is just what it is - a classic that doesn't really go away but is able to reinvent itself and become a must-have again. This time around, the plaid pattern is somewhat monochromatic and the edginess will come from the cut and design of the pieces it appears on. Bomber and moto jackets, oversize coats, tapered pants and metallic details are examples of how plaid is back with a cool factor that is still elegant and timeless.
