There are trends that don't even deserve to be called that since they make their way time and time again with a new perspective or twist (a status studs have also gained). The plaid trend is just what it is - a classic that doesn't really go away but is able to reinvent itself and become a must-have again. This time around, the plaid pattern is somewhat monochromatic and the edginess will come from the cut and design of the pieces it appears on. Bomber and moto jackets, oversize coats, tapered pants and metallic details are examples of how plaid is back with a cool factor that is still elegant and timeless.

Nothing welcomes fall better than the luscious palette and texture of a memorable jacquard brocade look. Whether you go for the unexpected playful version (left) or for the elegant upscale version (right), brocade is a beautiful way to add interest to your wardrobe. The metallic and repetitive patterns mixed in with its classic floral ways, make it a current must-have that is both opulent and daring. Include in your season's palette: nudes, taupe, browns / black, grays, gold and the color of the season: oxblood or aubergine and make it an autumn staple. Color blocking in the accessories is a great option for including additional touches of color to the mix without shifting the focus off the brocade and integrating the entire look.

At times, we need to wear something to adjust to our less than stable mood. Got too many key pieces you'd like to wear at once? Can't choose only one wardrobe hit for the day? Choosing an outfit that crosses the "predictable" line is not as easy as it sounds. However, texture can be a great ally to create that element of surprise while reviving long forgotten pieces. By deciding a base palette that is naturally harmonious - in our example we went for pinkish neutrals, dashes of black and gold and a popping, surprising color such as coral or cherry red - you can mix prints and patterns in the same color range as well as combining knits with more delicate fabrics or adding metallic touches.

Texture indeed creates contrast: the more you use it, the outfit possibilities will be virtually endless.

A denim jacket doesn't have to be predictable and uninspiring to be worn with everything. Structured, full of character and body-conscious are required attributes for any piece you plan to wear constantly. Mango's Denim Jacket represents this entirely by giving a contemporary edge to a well-known garment. This might even be considered a simpler denim version of the trophy jacket, one that is able to speak for a whole outfit.

While the distressed and stonewash look might whisper 80s, this jacket has been designed to create a style that belongs only in the 21st century.
